The Cost of Living is measured in a the cost of a product over time. Seeing how I can't drink milk and drink a pound of cornstarch every day, my indicator is the cornstarch factor. When I started drinking cornstarch it was .75 cents a pound. Now it costs about twice that at a good price. The properties of cornstarch are what make it necessity to live a "normal" life. The long chain carbs get digested slowly in my small intestine and maintain my blood glucose levels for a few hours. Another property of cornstarches long chain carb is its viscosity can change with force if not diluted properly. This can make mixing the cornstarch into solution difficult at times. But a few talk show hosts’ including Ellen DeGeneres have taken advantage of these properties and wasted pounds of my value “Medication”, similar to using insulin filled balloons in a balloon fight. There is nothing that sets panic into my body more than going to the grocery store and finding the shelves empty of cornstarch. I start thinking that some college students are trying what they saw Ellen doing on her show.
